Advocacy

Raising Voices, Changing Minds

Building awareness, reducing stigma, and positioning neurodivergent girls at the center of the conversation.

Our Advocacy Focus

Turning understanding into change

Girls’ growth is supported by the people and environments around them. Starting with neurodivergent girls’ lived experiences, we bring their voices into schools, workplaces and communities to work towards these changes.

Recognise overlooked needs

Being quiet, cooperative or academically capable cannot tell us everything about how someone feels. We want the public to pay closer attention to school, friendship and growing-up experiences of girls with ADHD, autism (ASD) and other learning or developmental differences.

See strengths alongside support needs

A strengths-based approach does not minimise difficulty. Creativity, interests, abilities and aspirations deserve attention alongside the support a girl needs to build identity, participate in community life and explore her future.

Turn understanding into inclusion

Respectful language, clear communication and flexible ways to participate can all make a difference. Parents, educators, youth workers, peers and employers each have a part to play. Cross-sector dialogue can connect support across home, school, work and community.

Talks & Workshops: Education in Action

Through talks, interactive workshops and training, we work with educators, employers and community partners to turn understanding of neurodiversity into everyday practice. Sessions start with girls’ strengths and needs and explore how learning, communication and working arrangements can become more inclusive.

  • Schools and colleges: Explore clear teaching, flexible participation and peer support with educators, with students’ voices helping shape the learning environment.
  • Workplace training: Explore communication, onboarding support and working arrangements with employers and teams to build understanding of neurodivergent experiences.
  • Community education: Bring girls’ lived experiences into public conversations and share practical ways to support inclusion in everyday life.

Media & Public Education

Sharing girls’ stories more widely

We are planning podcasts, lived-experience stories and further media and social content, while exploring channels such as television and radio to bring neurodivergent girls’ experiences and perspectives to wider audiences. We will share details and ways to participate as these plans develop.
